Woke up this morning and made breakfast at on the picnic table outside the shelter in the dark. The sun was just rising above the horizon when I began hiking at 7:30.

I’ve got a short day today and a resupply.

Noting much happened other than walking this morning. I passed by a few gas lines before reaching Chimney Rock. It a side trail and up a bit but well worth it. One of the best views I’ve had in days.

After Chimney Rock I descended into Old Forge Park. There were a few bridges I walked over, they seemed pretty new. The only glance I got of the parking lot was on a turn of the trail with a nice water spigot at a shed.

I’m disappointed in my self because all the shelters I’m passing are sooooo nice. Deer Lick has two shelters one for snoring the other for non-snorers. Poor planning on my part… can’t stay in one tonight otherwise I’d be adding 5 mile to my already humungous day tomorrow.

I eventually made it to PA Route 16 but we decided to go to a further road with less traffic to walk into town on. It’s right next to the Mason-Dixon Line where I plan on camping tonight. (The Mason-Dixon Line is the start of the 4 state challenge).

I eventually made it to Pen Mar Road, Kill Bill shortly after. We walked down the mountain into Rouzerville. We stopped by Bobby D’s Pizza first and I got a meatball sub. I was a little disappointed because there wasn’t much meatball… still beats trail food. We headed over to Walmart afterwords to grab some quick eat snacks for tomorrow.

We got a shuttle back to the trail, we didn’t want to climb 500ft back up on the road. It got pretty hot in the sun and pavement.
Walked a total of .1 miles to the Mason-Dixon line and pitch our tents at 3:30pm. I relaxed a bit then I walked up to Pen Mar Park to check it out. There’s a really nice view up there so I glad I was able to see it in the light.

Walked back to camp and began cooking dinner and prepping for the 2:30am wake up call in the morning. Headlamps charged and ready to go! I’m now off to bed at 7pm. Technically I’ll still get 8 hours of sleep…
